  When my husband and I moved to the area from the city, I spent a lot of time visiting various pre schools in the area. Kids Kottage really stood out. At other schools, I felt the Director’s went into an unattractive sales mode that seemed more about the business model than about kid’s first learning experience. At Kid’s Kottage, it’s all about the learning and social environment for the kids. The Director, Lisa, is a model educator. Every aspect of the school is well thought through and she couples strong children’s development experience with a kind of sage and genuine maternal kindness. The programming is extremely well run with a wonderful environment geared toward treating each child with respect as an individual. The mention of a curriculum for three years may sound laughable, but they have a very thoughtful and well-rounded curriculum that allows each child to discover areas that interest him/her. Kids are introduced to art, science, reading etc through very innovative and impactful ways. (e.g. science, they actually plant a garden) My daughter is quite shy and I have been amazed by how she has thrived after a year at Kid’s Kottage. Not to mention starying to ask me things like, “Is that flower living?” Also, Kids Kottage does an outstanding job of extracurricular community building. Events like a used toy tag sale/fundraiser, a “jumpathon” MS fundraiser, trip to the dentist, multicultural parades and events are built into the year. In short, I highly recommend Kid’s Kottage. If you surveyed the moms of the current groups, I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who isn’t exceptionally happy with the school.
